Isla’s World: California Spotlight Adventure

Isla is ready for a big adventure in California! There are sunny beaches and tall palm trees swaying in the wind. She jumps up and waves her hands. "Hi friends! I'm Isla, and we're going on a fun trip through California!"

Next, Isla visits a sunny theme park! The rides are bright and the lights sparkle all around. She runs to the friendly mascot and gives it a great big hug. "Look! Can we take a picture?"

Now Isla is at Santa Monica Beach! The warm sand feels soft under her feet. She scoops sand into her yellow bucket and listens to the waves go splash. "The water is so cool! Let's build a sandcastle!"

Isla walks among the tall, tall trees in Yosemite. They reach way up high into the sky! She points at the waterfall splashing down. "Wow! Look at the big trees! Can you see the waterfall?"

Here at Golden Gate Park, bright flowers are blooming everywhere! Isla bends down close to smell the daisies and tulips. "These flowers smell so good! Let's pick some for Mommy!"

Yum! Isla finds a food truck in Los Angeles. The tacos have bright green avocado on top. She takes a big bite in the warm sunshine. "Mmm! These tacos are so tasty! I love avocado!"

On this page, Isla stacks colorful Lego bricks into a tall tower. She holds up her Lego dragon and smiles big. "Look! I made a dragon out of Legos! Roar!"

At Balboa Park, Isla sees bright paintings and fun sculptures all around. She picks up a big paintbrush and feels the smooth wood in her hand. What will she paint?

Isla is at the San Diego Zoo! She sees lions and pandas playing together. She claps her hands and points. "Look at the baby panda! It's so cute!"

Look! Isla walks along the Walk of Fame in Hollywood. Shiny stars cover the ground, one for each famous person. She kneels down and touches one. It feels smooth and cool under her hand.

Time to say goodbye, California! The sun shines bright in the big blue sky. Isla waves with her beach ball and surfboard nearby. "What a wonderful day! I can't wait to come back!"
