Isla’s World: Cultures Around the World

Isla stands by her big, colorful globe. She gives it a spin and touches a spot with her finger. Her eyes light up. "Where should I go today?" she asks.

Now Isla sits at a bright table in Mexico. She takes a big bite of a yummy taco. "Mmm! I love these spicy tacos!" she says with a great big smile.

In Japan, Isla watches the big Taiko drums go BOOM BOOM BOOM! The sounds are loud and exciting. Isla twirls around and moves her arms, dancing just like the drummers.

Look at Isla in India! She wears a flowing sari with bright, beautiful colors. She spins around and the soft fabric swirls. "Look at all these colors!" she says happily.

Over in Italy, Isla is making her very own pizza! She adds cheese and lots of veggies on top. The fresh tomatoes smell so good. Isla smiles as she places each piece just right.

Next, Isla dances at a big, bright festival in Brazil! She moves her feet like a samba star. Happy music fills the air, and Isla grins from ear to ear.

On this page, Isla is on a safari in South Africa. She sees big elephants walking in the warm sun. "They're so big!" she says, pointing and smiling.

Here, Isla sits at a table in China with her family. Round, yummy dumplings are ready to eat! She picks one up with chopsticks and takes a bite. "These are so good!" she says.

Wow! Isla stands near the big pyramids in Egypt. The warm sun shines on her face. She pretends to be an explorer. "Look at those giant pyramids!" she says, pointing up.

In Australia, Isla watches kangaroos hop, hop, hop! She holds a warm, flaky meat pie in her hands. She takes a bite and wonders what it tastes like. Yum!

Isla finds a bright shop in Russia full of special dolls. They are called matryoshka dolls, and little dolls hide inside the big ones! Isla holds one up and smiles. They feel smooth and cool in her hands.

Back home, Isla sits with her globe again. It shows all the places she visited! She hugs it tight and smiles, dreaming about her next big trip.
